Brent Dann serves as the Managing Partner for SolomonEdwards’ Washington, D.C. advisory practice focused on accounting, finance and business transformation services. He is responsible for the development of the regional office’s professional capabilities and providing oversight to the office’s professional staff.
Brent’s career spans over eighteen years of progressive experience in the financial services industry serving Fortune 500 and large privately held clients. Brent has extensive experience developing and enhancing financial accounting corporate infrastructure, inclusive of implementing financial systems; designing internal control environments; and developing analytical accounting validation and management reporting tools. Brent has served as a subject matter professional and leader on large projects to implement complex financial software applications.
Prior to joining SolomonEdwards, Brent was the Managing Principal of Convergent Consulting Group, a Washington, D.C. based financial services consulting firm, Director of Financial Forecasting and Analysis of Freddie Mac and an audit professional at Deloitte & Touche, LLP.
If you could do anything else as an occupation, what would it be?
College professor at my alma mater demystifying the science of accounting.
What do you do outside of work to relax and recharge?
Spend time with my family which helps me stay centered on what is really important in life.
What is your favorite nonprofit to support?
Habitat for Humanity – working alongside the proud people who will one day occupy their house where they were involved in building the dwelling from the ground up.
What part of your work day do you most look forward to?
First thing in the morning. I enjoy working with a clean slate, planning the day ahead and putting together my to-dos.
